"This is the day which the Lord hath made, we will rejoice and be glad in it". Bill Wingard started The Calvary Hour in 1963 as a once-a-week, 30-minute program on a local radio station. Since 1989, FBN has broadcasted The Calvary Hour now a 10-minute program around the world, five days a week. Through this ministry of the Calvary Baptist Church in New Bern, North Carolina, the Lord has allowed Pastor Wingard to pursue his heart's desire not only in missions, but also in encouraging the brethren. Although his schedule does not often permit him to travel on missionary journeys, The Calvary Hour has allowed Pastor Wingard to share the gospel of Jesus Christ with people all over the world. As Jabez prayed of long ago, "Oh that thou wouldest bless me indeed, and enlarge my coast...". God has granted Pastor Wingard through the airwaves and outreach of FBN his desire to reach lost souls for Christ and to encourage believers to "keep on keeping on" for our Lord.
